Holiday Wish List 2017. To Give and To Get!

Friday, November 24, 2017
Happy Holidays! Can you believe it is already that time again?! I feel like summer was gone in the blink of an eye but I'm excited for the holidays this year. I ran to the market to pick up some milk last night and the Salvation Army volunteer was ringing his bell, the lights were all strung up and I could see the Christmas Tree's for sale across the lot and I got that warm fuzzy feeling that this time of year can bring.
This year I wanted to make sure I got my holiday wish list out early so here it is!

Mark and Graham

These clutches from Mark and Graham are so gorgeous and I have been lusting after them. I could use on in every color but I resisted and only purchased the camel as a little treat for myself. I also had it monogrammed because I am all about the monogramming this holiday!

31bits has been a favorite of mine for as long as I can remember. So many beautiful things and now that they have launched their new GOODS line for the home I can't get enough. So many great gifts to chose from and the petrified cheese board above is one of my favorites in this collection.

Greige Design

Then new textile line from Greige is simply amazing. The quality is impeccable and I would die if I received one of these amazing pillows as a gift for my home.

Okay so if you don't know yet, Madewell is my go to store for clothing. It's rare that I like everything in one particular store but Madewell speaks my language so its where I go for all my jeans. This sweater coat has me seeing hearts and so its made its way on to my wish list this year.
These 10" high rise chewed hem jeans are too good. Oh thank you design gods for bringing back the high rise denim because I'm totally on board with this trend.

There are so many great gifts out there this year to choose from. Too many options for me to include them all but these are definitely at the top of my list to give and to get.

Happy Holidays!

Sixpenny Love

Monday, November 6, 2017
Every now and again I have the opportunity to work with a company I haven't heard of before and I am always excited to find new and beautiful items that I can share with you all. And every now and then I am blown away by how amazing they are. Sixpenny has done that. I am so impressed by the quality of their products and the customer service they provide is top notch. They have proven to be a company that has gone above the industry norm to produce a line of products that will last the test of time.
The craftsmanship involved in all of the Sixpenny furniture is beyond excellent. I can't get over how much attention is shown to the detail of their pieces. Each one that I have been able to use in my work is constructed so well.  The Rylance console which is made of solid oak is not only modern and simple in it's design but constructed so solidly that it will last forever. Such a perfect addition to any home...I'm just happy that in this case, its my home that flaunts this beauty now.
At 84" long the Wyatt sofa is another piece I have been able to use in my design and you all......ITS AMAZING!! For real, its the most comfortable sofa I have ever sat on! Made from a  kiln dried hardwood frame and feather down, the bench cushion is so soft but still keeps its shape beautifully and the Classic Linen slipcover drapes so perfectly. Everyone that has had the chance to sit on the Wyatt has commented just how comfortable this sofa feels. I can't wait to use it in another design project coming up.

The Nolan dining table, below in English Breakfast is again incredible with the detail and pure heftiness of the piece. It's so refreshing to see furniture that is truly a piece of art and the craftsmanship impeccable. All of these Sixpenny items I would highly recommend. If you are looking for a timeless and well crafted piece for your home or a clients home, Sixpenny is sure to deliver!

You can always purchase any of the Sixpenny items online but right now if you are lucky enough to be in Denver you can visit the Sixpenny Pop Up Shop in Colorado.

Vintage Round Top Business and Branding Workshop

Saturday, November 4, 2017
Wow, how time flies and I can't believe it has already been over a month since I was in Round Top TX speaking at the Business and Branding workshop hosted by the fabulous Paige and Smoot, owners of the Vintage Round Top in the town of Round Top TX. Population 90, except for twice a year when hundreds of thousands of people fill this quaint little town hoping to buy or sell the miles and miles of vintage goods.
It's like nothing you will ever experience anywhere else in the world and so worth the trip if you aren't lucky enough to live nearby.
It was such an incredible experience to have the opportunity to participate in this workshop alongside
Maria from Two Peas and Their Pod  , Ashleigh Amoroso  and Kadie Smith from Dropcap Design.

The weekend started off with a Friday night dinner in the Vintage Round Top Boho house for all of the workshop panelists. The styling by Becki Griffins of Curious Details was incredible and the food absolutely fantastic.

Such a fun evening of getting to know one another. I can't think of anything better than a beautiful setting surrounded by interesting and extremely creative people to kick off a weekend!

The workshop started off with a morning session where I was able to speak as a panelist with Maria. I had the opportunity to tell my story on how I have been able to build a business purely from my Instagram and how sharing images of our work has grown in to a design and build business owned and operated by Brian and I.  Its been a lot of work but I still have to pinch myself at times because I can't believe this is our life now.
The morning panel was followed by an afternoon of two workshops on how to grow your business and branding yourself. They were both so full of useful information and tips on how to use the simple tools you have on you to make an impact on social media.
Ashleigh hosted a great workshop on using your phone to make the most of your photos and how to style them in a way that produces the biggest impact on your following. While Katie from Dropcap design taught the skills needed to properly brand your business and make it truly stand out amongst the masses.

The Vintage Round Top is like nothing I have ever experienced in accommodations. The house is simply amazing in its design and the hospitality is of course exactly what you would expect in true Texas spirit. Lots of food, drinks, great conversation and laughter. Our two day stay was so relaxing and enjoyable and we cannot wait to go back!

So many thanks to Paige and Smoot. Their kindness is contagious and talent far reaching. I only hope to have the opportunity to spend another weekend at the Vintage Round Top again soon. If you have never been then I highly recommend you put this on your bucket list.
